Once a month, Kristin will hold a 75 minute online gathering. She will lead a 15 minute self-compassion practice, then open it up for questions from participants. Have your questions answered on any topic! You can also access a library of fascinating questions and answers from past gatherings in the Learning Corner.
We created the Self-Compassion Community as a place where people could come together to learn and strengthen the life-changing skill of self-compassion. By joining our community, you will be firmly on the path to developing a healthier, more authentic way of relating to yourself and others. As a community member, you will have access to:
In these 60 minute events, Dr. Neff will be joined by a colleague whose work touches on self-compassion. These free-flowing conversations will focus on guests’ views of the importance of self-compassion in the work they do. In addition to conversations with well-known luminaries, we’ll also focus on special topics such as self-compassion for teens, clinical applications, parenting, and so on. Time will be reserved at the end of each conversation for questions from participants.
Susan Pollak is a clinical psychologist and MSC teacher who has written a book on how self-compassion can help you be a better parent.
Reserve a SpotLisa Baylis is the author of Self-Compassion for Educators and specializes in helping teachers use the resource of self-compassion to support themselves and their students.
Reserve a SpotDr. Ashley Kuchar has develop an empirically-supported self-compassion training program for athletes that enhances performance.
Reserve a SpotSelf-compassion involves giving ourselves what we need in the moment to alleviate suffering. Sometimes we need acceptance, sometimes we need to take action. This toolkit will provide a variety of empirically-supported self-compassion practices to help you meet your needs with strength and warmth.
These newly recorded guided practices are targeted toward different types of struggle such as feeling inadequate, caregiver distress, coping with difficult emotions, the need to stand up for yourself, the need to relax, and more. Practices are of different lengths, including mini practices (3 minutes or less) that can be used on the spot in daily life! New practices will be added continually.
Save and access your favorites anytime!
These one hour drop-in group Zoom sessions (held at a wide variety of times) are led by experienced self-compassion mentors. It’s a great opportunity to get guidance and feedback about your self-compassion practice. Some sessions are also available for more experienced practitioners. While mentor sessions may be therapeutic, they are not therapy sessions but instead focus on building skills and resources. You can preview the full schedule here.
In the learning corner, you can view short videos of Dr. Neff teaching about various self-compassion topics: basic concepts, fierce self-compassion, the science of self-compassion, compassionate motivation, working with difficult emotions, self-compassion for caregivers, core values, and much more.
In the learning corner you can also watch selected Q&A dialogues in which Dr. Neff answers people’s questions about all aspects of self-compassion research and practice (see sample dialogue in the Gatherings with Kristin tab).
