  Conversation with Mona Delahooke

July 1 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm CDT
Conversation with Mona Delahooke
Mona Delahooke, PhD, is a bestselling author and clinical child psychologist who seeks to help families work with behavioral issues in children – neurotypical or not – through a compassionate, neuroscience-informed approach. She is the author of Beyond Behaviors: Using Brain Science and Compassion to Understand and Solve Children’s Behavioral Challenges and Brain-Body Parenting: How to Stop Managing Behavior and Start Raising Joyful, Resilient Kids, a national bestseller.   She challenges conventional behavior-based models by advocating for relational safety—a paradigm shift rooted in the latest brain science. Her work is centered on translating complex research into practical, heart-centered strategies for parents, educators, and therapists. Kristin found Mona’s work particularly helpful in raising her son Rowan, who has autism.
Following a life-threatening brain aneurysm, Dr. Delahooke’s own recovery was guided by the very nervous-system-informed principles she has taught for decades. Please join Kristin for a conversation with Mona and her husband as they explore how self-compassion can help children and caregivers attune their nervous systems for greater connection and resilience, and how self-compassion helped Mona heal herself.
