November 15 @ 11:00 am - 2:15 pm CST
Most of us are quite practiced at being kind to others, especially in caregiver roles.  Whether we have a high-needs child, an elderly parent, an ill partner, or are a professional caregiver such as a doctor, nurse, therapist, or teacher, we know to give support and comfort to the people...

January 31, 2026 @ 11:00 am - 2:15 pm CST
A three-hour online workshop by Dr. Kristin Neff. Self-compassion involves treating ourselves kindly, like we would a good friend we cared about. February 28, 2026 @ 11:00 am - 2:15 pm CST
Our work - both our paid employment and work as unpaid caregivers - is an important source of fulfillment. But work can also involve high levels of stress.  When the stress exceeds our capacity to cope, we may feel drained, empty, irritable, or useless. We’re also likely to blame ourselves...

But self-compassion can be fierce as well as tender. Fierce self-compassion involves taking action in the world to protect, provide,...

April 25, 2026 @ 11:00 am - 2:15 pm CDT
Shame can occur when we feel judged by others or when we judge ourselves. It can happen when we do something wrong and when we’re entirely innocent of wrongdoing. Whenever we feel bad about ourselves, for whatever reason, there is a touch of shame. Shame makes us go small, go...

September 26, 2026 @ 11:00 am - 2:15 pm CDT
This workshop will help clinicians integrate self-compassion into their therapy practices. There is growing empirical evidence for self-compassion as a transdiagnostic and transtheoretical mechanism of action in therapy. This workshop is an introduction to the theory, research and practice of self-compassion-based therapy, comprehensively described in the new book by Mindful...
