This immersive workshop is designed to help you discover the freedom found in being present and mindful in the moment. The ability to be mindfully present with painful thoughts and emotions is necessary foundation for being self-compassionate. In today’s fast-paced world, we often find ourselves caught up in the rush of daily life, leaving us feeling stressed, distracted, and disconnected. This workshop offers a simple and practical approach to reconnect with yourself and cultivate greater peace, clarity, and focus. Through guided mindfulness exercises, meditation practices, and insightful discussions, you’ll learn practical tools to bring awareness to your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. Whether you are new to mindfulness or have been practicing for years, this workshop will help you deepen your practice and apply it to everyday life.Â
Who can benefit from this workshop? Mental health professionals as well as anyone wanting to be more mindful in their daily life.
The workshop will be recorded. A couple of days after the event, we will send all registrants a link to the recording, which you can review at your convenience for the next 60 days.

Our programs are designed to teach participants the tools needed to develop and cultivate a self-compassion practice. It is not a substitute for mental health care, personal therapy or medical treatment.
Personal safety and emotional wellbeing are the foundation of self-compassion training, and you are responsible for your own safety.
Teachers and facilitators are not expected, or able to provide medical and/or psychological care. Course experiences may bring up challenging memories or feelings.
If you have a history with a mental health condition or other concerns you think may impact your ability to take this course, please contact us or your healthcare professional to determine if this course is right for you. Your personal contact information may be used in the event the teacher or facilitator reasonably determines a need to call emergency services on your behalf.
If, in the opinion of the teachers and facilitators, you are not able to participate productively and appropriately in the event you have registered for, you may be asked to leave the workshop, or be removed from it.

Mindfulness, Yoga Teacher & Restorative Justice Facilitator
Rashid Hughes is a graduate of the Howard University Department of Music and the Howard University School of Divinity. Rashid is a certified Mindfulness Teacher, a certified Yoga Instructor, a Restorative Justice Facilitator, and currently in training to become a Fire Pujari. His perspectives flow from the two wisdom traditions of contemplative and restorative practices, and he seeks to bridge the worlds of contemplative practice and collective care.
