Welcome!

This is the place where you can introduce yourself and learn about your fellow members and their experience of self-compassion.  You can start by looking around, but we’d love for you to eventually enroll as a participant, introduce yourself, and start sharing. 

Share about your experience of self-compassion in three key domains of life

Share your insights, successes or struggles in learning the skill of self-compassion.

Share how self-compassion has impacted your friendships, family or romantic relationships.

Share how you’ve used self-compassion in your professional activities or other areas of public life.

How the Sharing Corner works

  • Beyond the general space for introductions, mentors will be asking guiding questions about members’ experiences of self-compassion in different realms of life.
  • Once a member has enrolled, they can share their own experiences in response.  (Posts are moderated to ensure they fit the guidelines)
  • Rather than engaging in back and forth dialogue,  the idea is to build a sense of common humanity by listening to each others’ experiences.
  • There are reaction buttons you can use to comment on shares in a general way.
  • Please pay attention to any empathic pain that may arise while reading shares.  You may want to go to the practice toolkit to help build the skill of holding others’ pain while still taking care of yourself.

Enroll as a participant

Any member can view the Sharing Corner as a spectator. To contribute shares, members need to enroll as a participant, review our guidelines and abide by our community agreements for safe and supportive communication.

REMINDER: Our two most important guidelines are:  1) Reply to the question by speaking your own truth. Avoid responding to other commenters, and instead tell your own story, and 2) Share in general terms and don’t discuss the details of your personal life, such as describing the specifics of a trauma.  Please note that we are trying to create an environment where all feel safe to explore self-compassion without being unnecessarily triggered, and our community is not limited by age.  Shares will be screened to ensure they follow the guidelines.  If you see something that might fall outside our guidelines, please email [email protected] with your concerns.
