In these monthly events, Kristin will open with a guided self-compassion meditation, followed by a live question-and-answer period. Attendees can ask Kristin questions about any topic related to self-compassion - from practice issues to research to the application of self-compassion in various realms of life.
These mentor sessions are designed for people who have been practicing mindfulness or self-compassion for a year or more and who are familiar with basic concepts. They will provide an opportunity to deepen your practice, discuss challenges, and explore more advanced self-compassion topics. This session is facilitated by Aimee Eckhardt.

A three-hour online workshop by Dr. Kristin Neff, June 21tst 11-2pm CT, sponsored by CMSC.Most of us are quite practiced at being kind to others, especially in caregiver roles. Whether we have a high-needs child, an elderly parent, an ill partner, or are a professional caregiver such as a doctor, nurse, therapist, or teacher, we know to give support and comfort to the people who need us. But how many of us offer that same level of compassion to ourselves? If our caring just goes one way – outward but not inward – we will eventually become drained and depleted. Self-compassion is crucial for caregivers because it allows us to resource ourselves so that we can continue our good work in the world. This workshop will present theory and research on the key role that self-compassion plays for caregivers. A variety of practices will be taught that can help you maintain equilibrium in difficult caregiving situations. You will also explore how to meet your needs in a balanced and fulfilling manner. The workshop is relevant for the general public as well as professional caregivers.
