Lorraine M. Hobbs, M.A., is the Director of Family Programs at the UCSD Center for Mindfulness and a licensed family therapist with extensive experience leading adolescent treatment programs. A certified teacher in MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), MSC (Mindful Self-Compassion), and CCARE (Compassion Cultivation, Altruism, Research & Education), Lorraine develops and delivers mindfulness- and compassion-based interventions through UCSD’s Department of Integrative Medicine as well as community hospitals in Indiana and Ohio. She has created curricula for multiple age groups, including her pioneering Mindful & Compassionate Parenting program, and is the co-author of Making Friends with Yourself: A Mindful Self-Compassion Program for Teens & Young Adults. She is also creator of a self-compassion training and curriculum for educators and an AI chatbot for children.
