Ethan Kross, PhD is a best-selling author and an award-winning professor at the University of Michigan’s Department of Psychology and Ross School of Business. He is also the director of the Emotion and Self-Control Laboratory, where he studies the science of emotions, self-regulation, and the conversations we have with ourselves.
His first book, the international bestseller Chatter: The Voice in Our Head, Why It Matters, and How to Harness It, has been translated into over 40 languages, helping readers around the world transform their inner dialogues to be supportive rather than destructive. His latest book Shift: Managing Your Emotions So They Don’t Manage You draws upon his years of research to explain the most effective ways to work with difficult emotions. Dr. Kross earned his BA at the University of Pennsylvania and his PhD at Columbia University.
