Description
This is a recording of a 3-hour live workshop with Chris Germer, designed to help clinicians integrate self-compassion into their therapy practices.
There is growing empirical evidence for self-compassion as a transdiagnostic and transtheoretical mechanism of action in therapy. This workshop recording is an introduction to the theory, research, and practice of self-compassion-based therapy, comprehensively described in the new book by Mindful Self-Compassion teachers Galia Tyano Ronen and Shari Geller – Grounding Psychotherapy in Self-Compassion. We explore the three levels in which self-compassion can be integrated into psychotherapy: compassionate presence, compassionate relationship, and compassionate interventions. Special attention is given to working with trauma and shame. This workshop consists of talks, short meditations, discussion, and an additional Q&A session with Chris.
