Self-compassion in Troubled Times, Online

Self-compassion isn’t selfish, it’s essential. But how can we learn to be kinder to ourselves, especially when facing difficult times?
Self-compassion involves learning to treat ourselves with care and support. Rather than continually judging ourselves, we can have compassion toward ourselves as imperfect humans and learn to cope better with the inevitable struggles of life.
In this talk I will reflect on the current global crisis and show how we can use both fierce and tender self-compassion to cope with the pandemic and also racial injustice. In times like these we need a friend, and we can learn to be a friend to ourselves.
