Dr. Kristin Neff
This program is taught by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer, co-developers of the empirically supported Mindful Self-Compassion program. The first part of the workshop provides a general overview of self-compassion theory and research and teaches key practices from the MSC program. The second part of the workshop is aimed specifically at psychotherapists wanting to integrate self-compassion into their work. Participants of this workshop will be taught over four days (in three hour sessions) online via zoom. Aug 17, 18, 19, and 20 from 11am-2pm EST. The first part of this workshop is taught by Kristin Neff, the second part is taught by Christopher Germer and Marta Alonso. Individuals can choose to sign up for the first or second part individually if they desire.
Self-compassion can be integrated into psychotherapy by (1) how therapists relate to themselves (compassionate presence), (2) how therapists relate to their clients (compassionate relationship), and (3) how clients relate to themselves (home practice). Self-compassion is a portable, internal therapeutic relationship that can be learned by anyone. 12 CE credits available.
